Meet Laurel

Laurel Friedman, PhD, E-RYT is a yoga instructor who is passionate about bringing the mental and physical benefits of yoga to corporate, private, and small-group clients. Laurel’s approach to teaching yoga is informed by more than a decade in higher education in the United States and internationally. Her work in the field of communication has reinforced a human-centered approach to problem-solving that values big-picture thinking coupled with attention to detail.

Laurel has received additional certifications in yoga nidra and aerial yoga along with training in pranayama/breathwork, trauma-informed approaches to yoga, grief support, and yoga-based anatomy/functional mobility.

Laurel has also contributed to Yoga Loft’s 200-hour teacher training as teaching faculty, with an emphasis on the subtle body and postural alignment.

Through in-person classes, online instruction, and retreats designed to meet each student’s unique needs unique needs, Laurel’s purpose is to relieve mental fatigue, support student-centered wellness goals, and foster creativity through centering practices of yoga, functional strength, and mindful movement.
